Facelift
I've slightly redone our school room. Since Brett will be doing a little more this year, I wanted us all to sit together so we can all work together. Then when Ty is doing his work, Brett can go to his little desk and do his little Center Activities when we are all done with our "together" work. I'm excited about a new year. 1st grade!!! I can't believe it! I can't believe he's that old, and I can't believe I'm homeschooling. I would have never dreamed I would have done this, but I love it and hope to be able to do it all through the years.

Thanks Grammy & Grampy!

My Side-Tracked Life
I get sidetracked all the time. I make my list on the white board of things to get done in a day, and off I go. I'm ready for the task. Ready to cross my list off. My laundry is all folded on the table and I pick up a load to take to a bedroom, I put the clothes where they go, and I see it. Belts and junk on the dresser. I have to put those up while I'm thinking about it. That wasn't on my list, but how was I supposed to know all that junk jumped up on the dresser like that?? Back to the table for the next load. I take Ty's clothes to his room and THERE THEY ARE!! Those 3 teabags that were on the kitchen counter (that I forgot to throw away b/c I got sidetracked earlier)...there they are, all chewed up on. Brett's. bed. Shadow (my lab) snatched them from the counter and decided Brettt's bed was a nice place to eat tea bags. I get side-tracked. Should I google "My dog ate 3 tea bags. Will she die?" Should I call poison control? Nah. I shake the chewed up bags onto the floor, head to the washing machine to wash the bedspread, grab the broom and head back to the boys' room. Sweep up the tea bags. I figure, while I have the broom, I may as well go ahead and sweep the whole house. (Was not on my list). The more I sweep, the more I see this floor is nasty so I may as well mop it. (Not on the list).
I wash my hands after mopping and see all the dishes that need to be washed. (Not on my list). I wash dishes anyway. Might as well put them up.
I head back to the table to finish putting up laundry. I get Matt's stack to take into our room. Heading to my room past the school room I notice a few things out of place. I put Matt's clothes up and head into the school room. (Not on my list).
On and on this goes (and it's just 9:00am). I can make my list of 3 things turn into 20. My list can go from being an hour long to ALL DAY long.
One thing I will do...I will sit with the boys and play Candyland and I. Will. Win.
Do you get side-tracked like that?? Please humor me and say "YES".

Camping at Myrtle Beach Part 1
We went to Ocean Lakes Campground at Myrtle Beach, SC. It was awesome, but it was so HOT. The heat index was 105 one day. It was smoldering in our tent, so we cheated...we went to Wal-Mart and bought an air-conditioner. The guys beside us had one sticking out of their tent too, and we found out that one of them was a heating and air guy, so he told Matt all he needed to do. It was lovely!! Still, though, between 2:30 and 4:00 it was HOT in the tent, but we slept better at night with the air. I would have been home day 3 if we had not gotten one...and we stayed 8 days! See the air conditioner sticking out?
Our neat little set up.
Clothes line! Much needed!
At night, sitting beside the little road watching golf carts and all the young school kids who come to the beach to fall in love. (hahaha)
This was packing up day...our last day. It rained the night before, so we moved the canopy on top of our tent because, yes, it leaked!!
Early Father's Day
Matt was born in Maine and he lived near his Grammy and Grampy there. His Grampy's favorite drink was Moxie and Matt loved it also when he was young. But Moxie is a drink that's only sold in Maine. Many times he has mentioned wishing he could have Moxie again. So for this Father's Day I ordered from a lady on e-bay who lives in Maine and sells things that are only sold in Maine! I was so excited to find Moxie for Matt!! I bought him 24 cans! He was elated!! Drink up, my love!!

Do-A-Dots are fun. Here, Brett is dotting his name!
Cutting straws again.
These are their Activities on the wall. I made pictures of their activities, cut them out, and glued them onto a ribbon and hung it on the wall. They take their clothespin and put it on which activity they are going to. When they are done, they clean that activity up and move on to another one.
ABC Cover-Up...I say, "Find and cover the letter ___" and that helps them identify the letters.
This is getting fun!!

New School Activities
This is Fine Motor Skills for Brett...cutting straws however long or short he wants to. He can also feel of them in the box after cutting. He could do this all day I think.
This one is good. I like it. Very fun way to teach addition and subtraction.
Matching colors. This is obviously more for Brett, but Ty was demonstrating while Brett was still in the floor cutting straws!
This is a fun way to get Ty to learn Sight Words. He hates sitting, so this way he can be active and learn at the same time!
Magnetic Letters...another way to get Ty to learn sight words or any words for that matter, lol!
So these are a FEW of the new things we are doing along with school.
Home's Cool!!
How Do I Do This??
I used to be able to post videos on here. Now at the top here, I only have Link, Insert Image, and Insert Jump Break, and then of course the Font stuff. How can I post videos on here now? Any of you blogspot people know? Please email me...
